Govinda's daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja debuts with Vijender Singh

Bollywood star Govinda is in no mood to take risks with the film launch of his daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja. Narmmadaa is all set to make her debut opposite Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh in a yet- untitled romantic comedy set in a small town.

The movie will be directed by debutant Lovely Singh and Govinda plans to make a grand official announcement about the project soon. The film will go on floors early next month.


Govinda has been planning to launch Narmmadaa in Hindi films for almost three years now but was reportedly waiting for the right script. There is a buzz that Govinda has personally invested a huge amount of money in the project. Not long ago, reports were rife that Govinda was hoping friend Salman Khan would help him launch Narmadaa, which never happened.

“ There has been talk that Govinda was upset with Salman because he gave a break to Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi in Dabangg , over Narmmadaa. All that, however, is behind them now,” said a source in the industry.

Roping in Vijender has been a plus point. “ He is blessed with handsome features. Being a youth icon, he comes with the advantage of being a star even before joining films,” said the source.

Narmmadaa will play a village girl in the film. Vijender is supposed to play a regular loverboy. Narmmadaa has been making preparations for her debut. She has taken to yoga and is following a strict diet. She has also enrolled herself in a dance class,” the source said. Reports suggest Narmmadaa has already signed a second film which will mark the directorial debut of actress Deepa Sahi.
