It will reach the final consumer through direct sale of food packets or in the form of tiffins, which will be made available at key areas in the city such as railway station, court areas, municipal corporation, markets etc.
Addressing a gathering of women activists, Shalini Thackeray said that through 'Panchamrut', the MNS wanted to empower women folk and at the same time provide food at subsidized rates to common man.
According to the Panchamrut plan, the packed breakfast will be provided at railway stations at a nominal rate of Rs 15. "Quality and hygiene will be of prime importance for the project. The food provided by us will be home made since it will be cooked by home makers who are adept at making food," said Anuya Misal, President, MNS women's wing, Thane city.
On the feasibility of the project when numerous 'poli bhaji' centres exist in the city, Misal said poli bhaji centres only provide with two meals.
