Masaba Gupta presented Masai tribe collection at Lakme Fashion Week

Designer Masaba's collection, Straight from My Soil, was inspired by the Masai tribe on day two of Lakme Fashion Week. The collection stood out for bright colours including oranges, aqua, and neon pinks with its interesting drapes and prints such as ikats , animal prints and polka dots. Masaba Gpta is the daughter of former West Indies great Viv Richards and veteran actress Nina Gupta and both her parents were present on the big day of their daughter.

Designers Jelin George, Sabbah Sharma, Jatin Varma and Vivek Karunakaran were also some of the designers who showcased their collections on Lakme Fashion Week. Also, adding a touch of Bollywood glamour were actresses Mugdha Godse and Jacqueline Fernandez who turned up for designers Little Shilpa, Masaba Gupta and Shivan & Naresh.

One of the most sought after was designer- milliner Little Shilpa. Inspired by Charles Baudelaires book of poems titled Fleurs Du Mal, the designer cum stylist presented seven curiously mischievous and effervescent pieces of headgear.

Keeping in mind the theme of sweet deception, decadence and debauchery, she opened the show with a fashion film made by her. The intricate headpieces consisted of bright floral motifs of orchids, foliage and glass spikes combined with bright neon coloured heart and star accessories.

Designer duo Shivan & Naresh created an elegant resort collection that changed the atmosphere into holiday spirit.
